Concordia Casavant re-release and Spring BOGO

We’re please to announce the re-release of the Concordia University Casavant. This sample set is a complete re-work from the original raw samples – every sample was de-noised from scratch, mixtures were replaced with better tuned examples. (you can choose to use the original mixtures or the new “created” versions, which have the same composition, but were put together from other existing ranks).  The sound is now much fuller, and the noise formerly present on releases is gone.

We are re-releasing this set in both v4 and v5 versions. The v4 set will sell for $99, and the v5 set for $129. For a limited time, if you purchase the v5 set, you will also receive the 1852 LAUMC Simmons organ for free!

There are several demos on the page for this organ, all have been done in HW-V, with some carefully added reverb via the new convolution reverb included with HW-V. Those specific setting are included on the page so you can duplicate them in your setup.

This is the second of the original CLR sets that we have done work on for re-release, and we will continue our plan to both release new sets as well as renew existing ones.

The BOGO sale will run until June 1, 2020 – thanks for your continuing support, and best wishes for all during this challenging time!

News, and winter sale ends 1/31/2020

Just a quick note to let you know the winter sale ends on January 31, 2020.

This also means that the sets sold for HW 4.21 will be converted to HW 5 (or in some cases, discontinued).  At this point, we are committed to continuing the following:

  • Redlands Casavant (HW-5 only)
  • St. Mark’s Skinner (HW-5 only)
  • Christ Cathedral Arboretum Æolian-Skinner (HW-5 only)
  • St. Philip’s ELCA 1983 Schantz (works in HW 4.21 and HW-5)
  • Madison Masonic Center 1926 Wangerin (works in HW 4.21 and HW-5)
  • Concordia University Irvine Schlicker (works in HW 4.21 and HW-5)

At least for now, the Christ Presbyterian Æolian-Skinner and the Concordia University Casavant will no longer be for sale. If we do re-release them, it will only be after some further work on the samples – a complete revisiting of the de-noising and looping (and at this point, new sample sets are taking precedence – there’s simply not time to work on new sets while also doing the editing of all of the old samples). We are still working on the files as we have time, however, and there will be updates/fixes forthcoming on the sets that remain for sale.

It is with a fair amount of nostalgia that we also finally bid “farewell” to the venerable FBR Schantz. This was my first sample set, originally produced for HW 1, upgraded when HW 2 came out. It has been for sale for nearly 16 years, and was the way I got started in this business. When it came out, it was a low-cost 3m American Classic that loaded in under 4gb, which allowed customers with low-spec computers to have a decent flexible instrument… I’ve sold a LOT of this set, and it’s brought a lot of enjoyment to a lot of people. But, the set is limited to 16 bit 48 kHz, there is really no chance to re-record it, and I’ve gotten so much better at noise reduction and looping… I’m sad to see it go, but grateful for the many years and sales.

For customers who need HW 4x versions of the install files, we will maintain an online archive for at least a year, after that the files will still be available, but not necessarily available immediately online.

if you want to get any of those sets in V4.21 before they go, I suggest you do it soon!

Finally, we’re excited for the future – we’ve assembled a great team of developers, beta testers and designers… there are new sets coming soon (in various stages of development) and other recording sessions already scheduled for 2020.

Redlands Casavant | Updated and improved!

We are pleased to announce the release of the updated and improved version of the Redlands Casavant sample set for Hauptwerk. This update is free for all existing licensed users of the set, and for the next two weeks will be offered at a 15% discount ($335 instead of $395) for new customers. (click here to download if you are an existing Redlands licensed user)

Using some excellent source material, and based on additional experience we have gained, we have revised the samples for the Redlands sample set. The resulting sample set is vastly improved, giving you an even more compelling 1928 American Classic organ experience. Revisions include:

  • Checking all loops, fixing any loop errors
  • Reapplying noise reduction using new techniques, resulting in superior sample audio quality and reduced download and sample set size
  • Evaluating all attacks and releases, and fixing errors that were found
  • Adding a Simple Screen for those who find the photorealistic interface hard to see (coming shortly)

We think you will find that the revised samples will be a pleasing experience for you for years to come. The Demo set has also had the revised samples incorporated, you are invited to download it and hear the difference.

The Redlands Casavant is the first sample set we have reprocessed with these new techniques. We will be working on the rest of the CLR sample sets to provide similar improvements.
